The city of Encinitas is a coastal beach city in the north part of San Diego County. In 2000, the census stated that the city had a total population of 58,014, but currently it’s around 62,000. The city is around 25 miles north of downtown San Diego. It’s around 95 miles south of Los Angeles.
The city is known for it’s growing of ornamental flowers. The most popular flower grown there is the poinsettias.
The city of Encinitas can be divided into 5 sub areas. Old Encinitas, New Encinitas, Olivehain, Leucadia and Cardiff-by-the-sea. The city has a total area of 20.1 square miles, and 95% is land.
The climate is mild, with the average daily temperature of 72′ F. Temperature below 40′ F and above 85′ F is very rare.
